Robin Esrock, author of The Great Canadian Bucket List will launch a companion website for his book in early October. Look out for it! It’s sure to be aces.

Dundurn was featured in Canadian Business magazine “It’s Alive”, article on the status of Canadian book publishing.

John Buchan by William Galbraith was feature in the Toronto Star under News, Insight section.

Ted Barris, author of the upcoming release The Great Escape will be in “By the Numbers” column in the October issue of Canada’s History magazine.

Priscila Uppal, author of the upcoming release Projection will be on CBC Fresh Air with Mary Ito this September.

Newcanadianmusic.ca In the Buzz, posted a blog about the book and Pledgemusic campaign. Classicrockmagazine.com was blogged under News as Metal on Ice book to become EP and show.

Chinese Community in Toronto from 1878 by Arlene Chan was reviewed by Asian Affairs. They noted that “The Chinese in Toronto from 1878 is indeed a stellar example of a people’s history at its best”

Don Harron, author of My Double Life, had a live radio interview with an online giveaway on CBC Charlottetown, Main Street.

Rails Across the Prairies by Ron Brown was featured in the “What’s in our Neighbourhood?” article in Smoky Lake Signal.

RMS Segwun and Muskoka Resorts by Andrew Hind and Maria Da Silva were mentioned in Muskoka magazine as one of the book in the Bookshelf.

The Bracebridge Examiner reviewed Hardscrabble by Donna E. Williams and Reluctant Pioneer by Thomas Osborne. Thomas Osborne was noted for is his storytelling “[Osborne’s] adventures make for an exciting story full of escapades, back -breaking work, isolation and ingenuity. . . Readers will also enjoy the accounts of all the people they met during their time in the North Portage. “

The OHS Bulletin had a field day with Dundurn history titles. First, starting with Another Country, Another Life by J. Patrick Boyer, which received a starred review as “a compelling life story, in terms of both history and mystery, with a richly drawn context about the fledgling province of Ontario in the early post-Confederation years”.

Inheritance in Ontario by Jane MacNamara was noted for being useful in anyone’s search for their genealogy in OHS Bulletin.”Inheritance in Ontario, by well-known genealogist Jane MacNamara, is the most recent entry in Dundurn’s invaluable Genealogist’s Reference Shelf series. Like the other series imprints, this one will prove indispensable to all contemplating, or immersed in, the complicated web that is family history. “

Third book reviewed in OHS Bulletin was for Doing Canada Proud by Bernd Horn was a recommended read for history lovers. “ . . . Doing Canada Proud, by Canadian Forces officer and military historian Colonel Bernd Horn, is an informative introduction to the key events and issues of the first battle fought by the Royal Canadian Regiment in the South African War.”

The Flames of War by Richard Feltoe was reviewed in the summer OHS Bulletin, and the series was praised for its clarity. “This volume, as the others published in the series, is effectively illustrated with numerous reproductions of historic etchings and paintings alongside contemporary photographs of artifacts and locations, as well as maps detailing battles and tracing troop movements.”

Cracking good reviews…eh

Niagara Life summer picks review featured The Pendulum of War by Richard Feltoe because “Feltoe’s books continue to emerge as a “go-to” series on the Canadian theatre of the War of 1812.”

Ed Butts, author of Wrong Side of the Law gets the right kind of author profile mention in the Guelph Tribune .
